Road Trip Diary / Day 6

Day 6
The next morning we were safely at my parents home in Scottsdale. It was nice to know that we could settle in a little bit since we were going to be there for a few days. The girls had definitely had their fill of the car (and so had we) and it was nice to give them a break. We laid by the (gorgeous) pool (complete with lounge chairs and umbrellas) in the morning before it got too unbearably hot. We usually only visit there in the winter, so this was actually our first time being able to go in the pool. Little miss Princess was a little wary of the water.

Such a cute thing in her 'kini.
I don't know why. She always loves to go in the pool at my in-laws house in Hood River. But I think she enjoyed playing outside anyway. Peanut however, LOVED the pool and would let us take her into the deep water. Here she is eating one of her cousin's many balls.

Then we went shopping and out to lunch for sushi. We found a candy store called "It Sugar" that had obviously tons of candy (and specialty candy that you don't find everywhere). Even the adults went crazy over it, so you can imagine how Princess felt when she showed her.

See her eyes lighting up?
Then we laid by the pool again and had my mom's famous terriyaki burgers for dinner. So freaking amazing. Then we drank and hung out in the pool some more. It was a rough day, I must say. So nice to be able to spend time with family. Its almost healing sometime to be with your family. The people who you grew up with and who have loved you your entire life. We needed it.
